Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Psalm 150:6 (NIV)
God is (a)...
An amazing and awesome author. (Hebrews 12:2) Brilliantly brainstorming blessings beyond belief. (Ephesians 3:20) Compassionate, comforting, caring, counseling creator. (2 Corinthians 1:3-4) Divine designer doing delightful deeds. (Psalm 65:5-7) Examining everyone's exploits effectively. (Jeremiah 17:10) Forever-faithful friendly father. (Psalm 146:6) Goose-bump giving, gracious gentleman. (Psalm 103:8) Holy, humble, honorable, honest hero. (Philippians 2:6-8) Interested in imperfect individuals inner issues. (Mark 2:17) Just, jealous, jubilant judge. (Psalm 9:8) Keen, kind, knowledgeable king. (Isaiah 63:7) Living, loving, longsuffering Lord. (Psalm 145:17) Marvelous, magnificent, miracle manifesting maker. (Job 9:10) Nifty, nice, neat, nurturing navigator. (Proverbs 20:24) Omnipotent, omniscient, open-heart operator. (Ezekiel 36:26) Perfectly pure, pleasantly patient, promising provider. (2 Peter 3:9) Qualified quarterback quashing quick-tempered quarrelers. (1 Corinthians 3:3-7) Radiant, restoring redeeming ruler. (Psalm 19:8) Sweet, satisfying selfless savior. (Titus 3:4-7) Teaching the truth to troublesome thinkers. (Matthew 12:22-28) Uniquely understanding us unconditionally. (Psalm 145:7) Very valiant, vigilant vindicator. (Psalm 135:14) Winnowing worldly wisdom wisely. (1 Corinthians 1:27) X-raying xenophobes. (Proverbs 15:3) Your yoke-breaking Yahweh. (Leviticus 26:13) Zealous, zealot, zapping zaniness. (Isaiah 42:13)
There is no word or phrase able to express the fullness of how good God is. His goodness surpasses everything any one of us can comprehend as "good." Yet, the wonderful and holy God who is perfect in all He does chose us, the imperfect ones. Our God chose us to have a relationship with Him, and He wants to show us how big He truly is. God does not just want us to read about what He can do, but He wants us to experience what His word says He will do. To experience the active flow of God's promises in our lives, we must begin to praise Him. If we do not praise Him the rocks will cry out in our place (Luke 19:38-40) and we definitely do not want a rock, which has no life in it to somehow acquire a voice and cry out to God as a replacement for us. Therefore, we should praise God every chance we can. Matter of fact, praise should be the clothing we wear daily. We must praise the Lord in our goings and our comings. We must praise the Lord in our storms and in our victories, because without God, everything that is, will cease to exist. He is the One who makes the world go round; He is the reason why everything functions. He brings order to our dysfunction and quietness to our chaos. In Psalm 22:3, it speaks upon God being enthroned or inhabiting the praises of Israel, and who is Israel-- they are God's people, and we, being born again believers, are also God's people, thus God inhabits our praises as well. When God inhabits our praises, He moves in us like someone would move into a house, and essentially makes us His home, and as we allow Him to reside in us through our praises, the more we will see Him work supernaturally in our lives. So let's go ahead and praise the Lord with our very breath, because without Him we would not be breathing.
