A good DJ should be able to give good feedback to an artist as well provide advice and direction to an artist. We also want to make sure that the artist is well informed on the journey ahead, as it will not be an easy one. We want to provide the artist basic tips from a Dj’s point of view that will touch on preparing their album, to building up a buzz, and provide quality music. We also hope that the feedback will aid in deciding if this is the right direction for you.
God Bless!

Are DJs still relevant to Christian Hip Hop?

With so many mixtapes and tracks being released directly to the public each year, one can't help but ask where are the DJ's that would normally help the artists put these songs out? I can remember a time when an artist would invite a DJ into the studio session or reach out to one as soon as they left the studio in order to get feedback on the record. In fact, most artists would leak the song out to a DJ so that it could be featured in mixshows and mixtapes to build up anticipation for the album.
Today there seems to be a paradigm shift in the air. Instead of using DJ's as "Quality Control", an "A&R", or a "Promotional Expert", it seems many artists would prefer to release songs via Itunes and only get DJ's involved after the record is released to the public. Then some may still refuse to involve the DJ.
This leaves most DJ's scratching our heads and asking ourselves if we're even viewed as relevant to Christian Hip Hop or music in general. I think my brother DJ Jesus Beats said it best in the video above, but I'd love to hear from you.
Do you still feel that DJ's are relevant? If the answer is yes then we want you to give us feedback below as to how we can work together. If the answer if no, then tell us why.
God Bless!
