They say that college is a place of higher learning and that may be true. This group of Morehouse alumni received more than just a formal education. Current ATL resident emcees, The Remnant has gained relationships and experience that make for great conversation and material for great music. On the hills of a new project PB&J (Players, Babes And Jesus) I got a chance to chop it up with Niles and Adan of the group. Saying they are two hilarious guys are an understatement. In our conversation they shared some very interesting things including the fact that they were once signed to Cajo International Records and that their first cd was executive produced by none other than Canton Jones, It was a great conversation.

Christian hip-hop has so often been used as a tool for outreach that we may forget that it also can be used for worship. This opportunity has not been lost on artist Kiwi, however. Using a unique blend of singing, rapping, spoken-word poetry and musicianship, as well as what she learned of God's healing grace through a difficult past, Kiwi composes what she calls “urban psalms” to offer an alternative for praise. She lets us in on what we can expect of her sonic gumbo on her new release “Handwritten,” and inspires us to always keep it real with God.

P-Dub will be dropping an album soon and preparing to introduce Young, Fly & Saved artists to the masses. During his time talking to DaSouth.com, he offered encouragement to secular artists who wish to embark on the same experience he had, and inspires people “fresh off the streets” to form a proper, meaningful relationship with the Lord as they begin their own spiritual journey.

Domino - (dah-mi-no). The originator of the melodic rap style (Melodocious) that not only redefined Hip Hop but, bridged the gap between R&B and Rap music with the 1994 monster smash entitled “Getto Jam.” Shocking the world, Domino became the highest debuting Hip Hop artist on Billboard Magazine’s Rap and R&B charts, superseding industry veterans like Toni Braxton, Snoop Dogg, Queen Latifah, Ice Cube, Too Short, etc... With the “Getto Jam” success sweeping the nation by storm, Domino’s melodic flow would prove to be most influential in the music industry. There would soon be other melodic rap artist to hit the scene such as Nate Dogg and Hip Hop crossover sensation Nelly, “There are many of we, but only one me,” says Domino. It should be noted that Steven Tyler of the legendary rock group “Aerosmith” was quoted as saying Domino was his favorite hip hop artist 10 years after his release. Classic!

Since when did the world know what the life of a Christian is supposed to look like? How about how a Christian should dress/ look? It’s always a not so funny piece of irony when a publication of secular focus attempts to define a believer by their shallow, religious understanding. Such was the case last week as an artist by the name of Infamous came under fire by an uninformed journalist. The sad thing was that not all of the brethren rushed to the side of our brother and some of us dissected everything from the writer’s mindset to our brother’s thought process. I myself spent too much time worrying about the world’s lack of understanding of the cross. I sat down to chop it up with Infamous so we could get a real look at his heart for the lost, his challenge for the Church, and what the Lord challenged him with.
