Cross Movement Records makes Official Statement on Da' TRUTH and more

Share/Save/Bookmark

datruthDa' TRUTH posted an apology letter to his fans, friends, family and ministry partners on his website about two weeks ago concerning a recent moral failure in his marriage. And now Cross Movement Records has posted an official statement on their website concerning the situation. Initially we chose not publish anything about it (as we did in the Ambassador situation). But this time is a little different.

The Bible says in Proverbs 22:1 "a good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold." Some, because of their fortune and fame (a paycheck), would rather hide their sins and go on with the show. We have respect for CMR for caring more about their name and taking any losses that come along with the bold stances they take on handling moral failure with their artists. Much respect to Da' T.R.U.T.H. for coming forth - and not that he had to! We're sure it's not easy for them to do by any means, but they see it as a responsible service to those who trust their "brand," and most of all so that the name of Jesus isn't tainted.  How do you right wrong? You confess it, and sometimes openly.

So in other words, we feel disheartened for CMR right now. The official statement addresses Da' TRUTH's situation, but it also comes across as more than that.  It's a prayer request.  It's a plea to not give up on them.  It's somewhat of an apology within itself.

The gravity of the situation no longer just affects the parties involved, but it also affects the body of Christ as a whole.  One thing the statement addresses is leaders in the public eye doing the responsible thing with their ministry and pretty much "sitting down." We commend Da' TRUTH for being bold enough to tell the world what is going on with him - not that he had to. But sadly, many commit the same fault, yet continue in ministry as if nothing ever happened.

At any rate, it can never be easy in these kinds of circumstances, and there will always be those who think you could've done something better or differently.  Ultimately, God knows the heart and we all miss the mark sometimes.

You can read it here on their site, or just peep it below:

Dear brothers and sisters in the faith,

This life is uncertain and refuses to leave us unchallenged.  The world we live in overflows with the sad stories of both sinners and unfortunately saints.  However, in the most unstable times, we can all be strengthened in this truth—that our God remains unchanged by our challenges, unaffected by our failures, and waits poised to help the repentant and contrite.

It is with tremendous sadness and humble disappointment that Cross Movement Records must inform you regarding the suspension of the promotion and forwarding of the artist, minister, and ministry of Da Truth, aka Emanuel Lambert Jr., due to recent findings of moral failure in his marriage.  It is the expressed ambition and demonstrated intent of this label to foster Christian leadership that utilizes the platforms of an artist or musician.  While obedience to the word of God is the high standard for all who name the name of Christ, for the Christian leader, the standards and the consequences are even greater.

We at CMR plead for your prayers for our brother Da Truth whom we sincerely love.  We also ask for your prayers for his wife, his family, his Pastor, his Elders and Church during this very hard time in their lives.  Again we charge ourselves, as well as you to remember Galatians 6:1-10 as we look to not only discipline, and in due time restore, but also “bear one another’s burden’s and so fulfill the law of Christ.”

In addition, we both thank and applaud Da Truth for his letter of confession found on his site, as well as ours.  We declare that in Da Truth’s case, in light of all the circumstances, in light of the authoritative stand by which he preached, and in the case of the Christian leader, this should be the commendable example of the responsible servant.  Though this may not be the requirement or charge of many, blessed are those who submit to the understanding that Christian leaders are accountable to the same degree that they are exalted.  Oh that the Church would witness leaders who are as courageous in the bad times, as they are in good times.  Da Truth once proclaimed (to the point of naming one of his albums) that his life was an “Open Book.”  It is CMR’s sincere prayer in the months and years to come, that the body of Christ and the world would be able to read new chapters that illustrate God’s incredible ability to rebuke, restore, reinstate and revitalize.  It is our belief that the real fruit of repentance occurs without condition or entitlement, as one patiently waits for the Lord’s refurbishment--something that an immediate and deliberate push back to the lights, stage and microphone could undermine.

Furthermore, in recent times and similar circumstances, it has been reported and published by certain media outlets that Cross Movement Records drops artists from its label for such things as what Truth has confessed.  We wish to state for the record that this is untrue and is a misunderstanding of past statements made by us which we apologize now for not being clearer.  When we state that we are “discontinuing the forwarding” of an artist, as we have done previously and are stating currently, we mean that we are rendering the person inactive and not separated from us.  Being that we do not have total authority over all the activities of a person/artist, we are just trying to express that if someone happens to see an artist still current and active in ministry during a  label recommended and church ordered down time, that we are not involved with the acceptance and promotion of such activity.  If ever there arises a reason for CMR and Da Truth (or any of our artists for that matter) to be separated, let us state now that it more than likely will have nothing to do with matters of this sort.

Lastly, we realize that many disagreed with our way of handling these matters in times past and many will do the same now.  Firstly, we would like to affirm that our actions and words then were, and at this present time are, not without accountability.  We have sought counsel from multiple Christian leaders and pastors who have painstakingly wrestled with us in the scriptures concerning these matters.  And though we refuse to engage in the fruitless tennis-volley style of debate through the media and over the internet, we would like to offer some of the scriptures that we have referenced.  Again, please keep in mind that it is the prerogative of this label to forward Christian leaders who also understand these expectations when they accept the platforms they are given.  Therefore, please read the following with this context in mind:  1 Cor. 5, 1 Tim. 3:1-13, 1 Tim. 5:17-24.  It is also our goal in the coming year to forward a fruitful format that will help bind those that are hurting, give understanding to those who are confused, and strengthen those who are trying to continue in the ministry for Christ.

In conclusion, with the untimely death of one of the original Cross Movement group members, Enock, aka Juan James (October 17, 2009), and the struggle to heal our brothers, 2009 has been the most trying, overwhelming, mentally, physically, and emotionally draining year for us to date.  Please continue to remember us in your prayers.  We would like to thank all those who have prayed for us and shown their support throughout this year.  It means more than can be expressed.  Though it is not our view in this matter to credit Satan for all of the adversity that has risen,  we are at the same time not ignorant of his schemes and how he would love to not only cripple leaders, but also discredit the whole of an entire Movement (past, present and future).  As before, even with all of the CMR Family's credibility at stake, we remain resolved at CMR along with all of its artists/ministers to continue steadfastly with the mission of making the message of the Cross known to the world.  Again, we ask for your prayers as we keep our hands to the plow, heal our wounded, and worship the God of our Salvation.  We remain Christ’s and your servant.

After all is said and done man this one hurt me deep. I will say this though as the enemy is at work he knows what you like and how to get to you. Last year we had cajo up for a show and I was wonderingg why he was surronded by so many people. He bought 5 peeps up with him. Now I know why. Think about this if you go out with aa man or woman alone what are the chances that your sinful past and lusts will not creep back up. We all say i got this but do we really. I pray these three powerful men of God learn a couple lessons from this:
1) The devil can get at you if you let your guard down.
2) Flesh has a mememory and it only takes a sec to bring it back.
3) Dont go alone man or woman of God you never know what trap you steppin in to.
As the Kingdom Less pray for them and as soon as the get a cd up cop that joint.
Last but not least Aint nobody talkin bout jmoss and his Baby makin skills. I saw someone mention Tonex, Wat about Kelly Price doin Gospel and Secular or ya boy Ruben Studdard. If have said it once before and I will say it again God Lifts up a Standard will the real Kingdom People rise up and Make some Noise wit Me and be real soliders for Christ. If we gone put everyone buisness out less just be fair.

Come on Gerald

"first off whether he asked for privacy or not it is not unbiblical to put out a statement on what happened."

It is unbiblical, because there's many people that I know, that know what happened, yet they don't just go blabbering about it, they let Truth have his privacy.

"even before i said anything BET already put out a statement about what happened so it was already out there"

I'm fully aware of this, Torrence is quick when it comes to these things, because he also put up his views about the Ambassador situation. So, if its already out there, if people wanted to go looking for it, then let them look but that still doesn't give you the right to just say it because its already out.

"yes God can but that doesnt mean you tell people to go support his album. no thats ridiculous in so many ways. by buying his cd now is saying i dont care what you did here is my ten dollars."

No, your saying the music is good, here is my ten dollars. What if I was to buy Tonex's "Out the Box"(which I haven't yet), knowing the man is choosing to live homosexual, am I supporting what he does, or am I choosing to listen to the music that is of God even when his life clearly isn't right now. Only without maturity can someone forbid others from buying the music and being blessed from it. Don't perform evil for evil but overcome it with good. If I wanted to get someone the CD because I know it would bless them, would I download it off of Limewire because Truth sins and I "can't support one who has done this album in wickedness", or do I still LEGALLY purchase the album and give it to the person?

Your maturity will determine the answer.

"1 corinthians 5 says kick him out of the church and hand him over to satan and then when he truly repents restore him. when he is restored surely you can tell people to buy it. but that whole album is a stumblingblock to people who know what really happened.and i am far from uptight i am serious and angry against hypocrisy. we are talking about a struggle. we are talking about straight hypocrisy."

Is he unrepentant or just was a hypocrite before being caught? Big diff. If he stopped being a hypocrite after being sat down, then he isn't resisting submitting to restoration is he? If he would have been caught and still didn't admit it and kept doing it, THAT'S UNREPENTANT. But if he was doing dirt and then was caught, he was being a hypocrite. Flesh is a beast and makes you do things like that, this is why we watch and pray. I know what really happened, and I don't stumble over this, its more grieving than anything, but I am still blessed when I listen to the album.

Bro, this stuff hurts me, because I know what God has given him and he has destroyed his reputation and instead of walking the straight path with God, now he has to walk a circle because of his actions and the straight line is faster than the circle but its still possible, because the wisdom of God works in that He knows every possible move any of us can make and He knows how to respond to it and work His power.

Da' Truth did some dirty stuff, but I'm real anxious to see how much power God will use to bring all of this to restoration and closure. God Bless!
Where is the Agape?

Brothers I'm a young man who's heart is so broken right now. Yes it so true that what Emanuel did is a SIN and he needs not only Discipline restoration but also brothers who are willing to carry this burden with him.

Truth sin is sin, and we all sin but just because he is "Da Truth" does not mean that he gets a "Sin Free" card he is prone to just like everybody else. I am even more hurt by the Brother who took it upon himself to air the "Dirty Laundry" of Others across the internet. Where is the Discretion? Did you not think about how your words would affect others? This is not a closed site every one can see this. Old Christians, New Christians, hurting Christians and most of all, NON-Christians. How does actions like these make the Kingdom attractive to a nonbeliever, a new believer, a struggling believer?

I apologize for the harsh tone. Forgive me if I come of judgmental because I'm not trying to throw stones. I just want us to have a Kingdom mindset. Why are we going to throw "Holy" insults and throw our Brother under the Bus. Men of God, Christians, it is time out for us treating everyone like the World treats everyone. We get hurt and then talk bad about them because we want them to feel the same way we feel, hurt. What does this reflect about Christ to someone who does not know Him. We are supposed to be set apart, holy before a Holy God. Where is the holiness in gossip? Where is the holiness in be unforgiving?

To everyone who is genuinely hurt by Emanuel's actions, I say, Praise God! I say this because now you can not lean on this fallible Man for strength but lean on the God for your comfort and strength. Men we should pray to the Lord to bring discipline, healing, restoration, and forgiveness to this ENTIRE situation.

Men let's not forget the men of Old Testament who committed the same sin. They too were Leaders, Kings even yet they were Fallible. Solomon said it right there is nothing new under sun. Although it hurts the body when leaders fall prey to the enemy's schemes, we must not become prideful and think that our sin does not offend God. We are all on this website now and when we post a response we are preaching from a platform. Is your platform pure and white? Or is it spotted w lust, p**n, fornication, idolatry, faithlessness, jealousy, envy, strife. "So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to EVERYONE, and ESPECIALLY to those who are of the Household of faith." Gal. 6:10.

Lord forgive us of our pride. Lord I pray that we Draw near to you in this day of pain. Lord may we seek you with all our heart. Lord I pray that we walk alone side of our brothers who have fallen deep into sin. Give us hearts to pray for them, their families, their ministries, their relationships with you. Lord give them a clean heart, a new heart. For their sin and ours is before us all. Against you and you alone oh have we all sinned Lord. May seek our treasure in you and not the empty promises of all sin. It's in Jesus name I pray. Amen

To Gerald

"brother you telling dudes to go cop the big picture album when the whole time he was recording he was in adultery for over a year and lying to us. you dudes are crazy"

It's not crazy to recognize what God did through the album. If you don't remember, Jesus spoke about in the last days when many will say "Lord Lord have we not done things in your name?"

The things that they said were what?:

1. Cast out demons
2. Done miracles
3. Prophesied

They did all these things and if you noticed, it was in his name and things were fulfilled.

The thing you need to realize Gerald is that gifts and character are two different things. God can move through his album, even if he has been involved in adultery during the whole time, but if he did it in silence until he died, he would end up not with Christ and Christ would have called him a worker of lawlessness.

You need to separate the fact that the album has in fact TOUCHED people's lives, even when he was in blatant sin, so God still uses the album, even when Truth was doing his mess.

The same thing is going on with Tonex, who says he is a homosexual, and he argues that he's been singing songs that people worship to while being gay and that means that God isn't against Him in this when He is.

Stop being all uptight against me, I know things hurt like this because he is close to you and he lied for awhile, but learn how to deal with it in a Christ like manner. Hate sin of course and we hate what Truth has done in this instance, but the music is still good. For instance, Truth lied about him being a virgin on his first album with the song "My Story", but it still has encouraged alot of people, namely me in being a virgin. God will and has dealt with him on lying about it and thats why on Open Book he actually spoke about it.

Keep him in prayer, the only reason why I'm saying your wrong for doing what you did is because he asked for privacy in his statement, but you still blurted it out anyways, so until we hear it from him its still a story passed around, even if some websites have now reported it. You were speaking about it on here in love, but just because you were upset and your motives are off!

Restore in meekness unless you fall bro, stop being so uptight, that crap is annoying as the sin that Truth did!

you dudes sound crazy. you sound as if sin is not a beast. brother you telling dudes to go cop the big picture album when the whole time he was recording he was in adultery for over a year and lying to us. you dudes are crazy.secondly r carter. its not sin for me to put out the truth. but it is sin for you to act like sin isnt a big deal. and thirdly i know all these guys and have spoken on this issue before. the only reason da truth came out with a statement is because he got caught. so no one knows if he is on the road to repentance.the sad part is you got all these christian rappers bashing the world about them living in sin and its okay but when someone puts out something on christian rappers then everyone loses there minds. HYPOCRISY.
I AGREE WITH GERALD
written by Bradley Bien-Aime, November 18, 2009
I agree with Gerald. let me explain.

I have really been rattled by this news with ambassador, tye tribett and da truth. This is a christian catastrophe that shouldn't be undermined, sugar coated, or ignored. first of all I have so much respect for ambassador and tye tribett and da truth. these guys CHANGED MY LIFE ( God changed my life through their music and ministry). I waited 3 years to finally meet the truth and I met him and talked with him in person and It still stands as one of the best days of my life! I love him deeply so this hurts deeply. but look.... after long thought and agony about it. How can I support his latest album to my ears when I know he was doing all this adultery while doing the album. Look at the massive hurt! for his beautiful wife and daughter?! look at the hurt with all the families involved?! ya'll we need a revival in our industry beginning with the hearts of ever artist. This thing didnt just happen the seed was planted somewhere along the line now it grew not it is being chopped off infront of everybody. Ya'll I dont know bout you people but My girl aint soft! I would be DEAD I mean DEEAADDDah today if I tried something like this! But how does this bring any hope to me as a young minister of the Gospel when my heroes cheat? I am petrified now about marriage. I dont ever wanna cheat but look how many super star ministers fall short in this way. Lets work on our charector ya'll I guess thats the only solution. cus this wasn't a one day thing this evil seed has been taking root for a very very long time. Now we got our ministers lookin like they on a episode of Maury. Dag. Jesus.......HELP smilies/shocked.gif
We all fall short on Sin
written by DJ JesusBeats, November 18, 2009
I'm grateful to see many on here doing what is called to be done in keeping DA T.R.U.T.H. and his family in prayer. It's sad but not shocking that this situation occurred cause anyone of us on this planet can fall into the temptation of sin at any given moment. No matter the situation, there's always gonna be an elephant in the room who wants to chastise, mock, belittle, hate, or just start controversy for their own person enjoyment. In which they need to sit down, read the word and realize that it is prideful, cocky, and arrogant to do such an act which is sin! Name me one person in this world right now who has not committed a sin besides Jesus? Yes its hurtful to hear that my brother in Christ slipped off the beaten path in to sin, but this should be a wake up call to all who are saved and unsaved. We don't need to know the full story even though I do, but the most important thing is to lift this brother and his family up in prayer, and take it further than that, if you know someone in your state, community or region who is struggling in sin, pray and fast for them. The most important thing that all of us should not do is draw lines in the sand now that DA T.R.U.T.H. messed up. If you choose to not listen to his music or support him, then that's ok cause you have to make your own decisions, but don't go around dragging his name in the mud and acting like your sinful nature weighs less compared to what he has done. We are all dirt, no one is greater than Christ, so please do a self examination on yourself and ask are you worthy of being in front of the Father? Truth. we love you fam, thank you for humbling yourself to realize that you committed a sinful act, and I pray that this will help you allow GOD to work on you and your family. I pray that the both of you will become stronger in the word and be a true light to all who you encounter. God bless you fam.
Eh.
written by R. Carter, November 18, 2009
Gerald's story sounds like something fabricated to provoke more rumor mills and gossip tales.

Nonetheless, I wanted to comment something Cross Movement pointed out in their statement:

"Da Truth once proclaimed ... that his life was an “Open Book.” We [pray] that the body of Christ and the world would be able to read new chapters that illustrate God’s incredible ability to rebuke, restore, reinstate and revitalize."

God is so merciful. I say this not only because of His ability to forgive, but His ability to expose the sin in our lives so that we will repent and be restored to Him. God did this because He wanted His son, Emmanuel, restored to Him ... we can't forget that our first ministry is unto the Lord. It also allows for us to be convicted as well, and to repent of any "hidden sins" that we think we're getting away with.

Everything in the dark will be brought to light.

Let's all re-evaluate ourselves and return to the One who is so passionately in love with us.

K, I'm done. For real this time lol.

I clearly understand what you mean, however, it is known already that it was in fact adultery, but like you said, God clearly covers this.

No one should stop themselves from listening to Da' Truth's music, for its filled with God's power. This is disappointing indeed, but we should not discourage ourselves from listening to the music, "The Big Picture" was and is a blessed album.

Let's not gossip either, because even if we know who it is with, it isnt ur job to reveal that information and he asked for privacy, so if you were his friend why would you do it just because you tight he was doing what he was doing?

Gerald, I'm talking to you, that was unrighteous no matter if what Truth did was unrighteous. Two wrongs don't make a right. If the man asked for privacy, you should have given that to him.
His Blood Covers It.
written by R. Carter, November 18, 2009
I'd first like to say that a "moral indiscretion" doesn't necessarily have to mean cheating. He could have been neglecting his wife and family, with all the promotion and touring he's been doing lately.

Regardless of what "kind" of sin it was, the blood covers it. And if God forgives Him and forgets, casting it into the sea, we need to follow suit and do the same. Stop gossiping. Stop slandering. And stop speculating. Let it go and love.

Meanwhile, if you haven't copped the BIG PICTURE yet, go get it!
Encouragement
written by Derek Watson, November 17, 2009
I see some folks not to happy about all the comments or what not. I encourage them, we as brothers and sisters in Christ need to know where we are spiritually. These brothers dispite their moral failures have changed lives. And yeah we are disappointed and hurt but feelings mend and wounds heal. And to those who feel that we shouldn't sweep what they have done under the rug. True we shouldn't just look past their sins, we should learn from them and do the very hard task of forgiving them. At this time we are called to show our Chirstian character toward not only Da Truth, Ambassador, and CMR but toward one another. In other words any and everything you do or say do it in love. There is so much I can say but I will pray and keep my family in Christ in prayer. Yall stay up and lets heal and continue the mission.

Dear Lord,
Thank you that we have the opportunity to talk to you about our concerns. We ask you to continue to work in the lives of Da'TRUTH and Ambassador and their loved ones. We pray that the two young men will seek repentance, redemption, reconciliation and restoration. That is our prayer for all of us when we fall short. We ask that you bless anyone who come to CMR's website and this website. Keep watch over all of us. Help us to keep the focus on you the living word. Thank you for giving us like. We praise you because you are so worthy to be praised! In the matchless name of Jesus Amen.

I have been looking at different message boards about this situation. I am starting to get a little sick of reading all these posts. I would love to see something, I would love to see someone put up a post saying, I don't want any comments or thoughts, but can we start a blog of people posting up prayers for Ambassador and Da' Truth and any other artist out here that may have fallen into sin and is on the road to repentance.
I was just thinking...
written by Richard Pike, November 17, 2009
I am not in any way attempting to cast judgment on Da Truth or CMR, but I was thinking about something today: I seem to remember a comment from Da Truth saying that he would "never do a song with Canton Jones" because of alleged doctrinal differences. I wonder if all of this stuff is being allowed because of judgments placed by Da Truth and other CMR artists toward their fellow Christian hip hop artists because of differences that are not vital to salvation....I was just thinking. I respect all the CMR & Reach Records artists for their strongly held convictions as they are and love the music Father is leading them to put out, but I think that doctrine is getting in the way of unity....

Understand the times and know what to do... these are the last days. a prophecy has been made about one final great Holy Spirit outpouring. but before that, a shaking has to occur. everything that can be shaken has or will be shaken. the Truth of God will not be mistaken for anything else... expect a falling away of the apostate church.

second, the content of the music and its reach is such that it will be fought hard by the enemy. it is unfortunate that a loophole was found to dicredit emmanuel lambert's work... the timing of this and ambassadors revalations, right after their albums dropped makes me wonder...

As Kingdom People... we do not condone sin. but we do not look at man either. Our sights should be on the infallable Christ and what He wants. We must show mercy and Love AT ALL TIMES. For this is how Christ would have wanted it. Call out the sin for what it is, but pray for and rebuke the man as you would your own blood brother. in Love.
Who is the corrector. Not us.
written by logos, November 16, 2009
Here is the thing about biblical correction. It comes from within the local community and not without. The internet has given many the illusion that they are are "fam" when in all honesty they are just aqutiences at best. We are not part of the correction process. Berating Truth or Ambassador on the internet does nothing. It doesn't change the situation. It doesn't make people want to know Christ by looking at our digital testimony. Just because people say they will pray for him and don't throw stones at him doesn't mean that we do not recognize that what he did was sin and it scars the way HHH is viewed in the church and in the world.

Lets let christian maturity rule the day and let those that are really their brothers keeper do what they must. If we can't find peace in that and feel that we have to have our hand in the situation then we might just have a just as ungodly spirit of control. Spirit of is not far off from witchcraft. No matter what it is the fruit of the flesh.

It is up to the local congergation to minister and to discipline him. It is, and has been, out of our hands.
Prayer
written by Daniel, November 16, 2009
My earnest prayer goes out to Da truth and the whole cmr family in Christ Jesus. We are one body and one sprit connects us all together as one. I love you brotha's and sisters in Christ, and my prayers of healing and restoration are before the father. Praise God no man is judge or we would all be tossed in the lake of fire, Glory be to God He is on the Throne. He is Good He alone is Good.Cmr has been through a lot they need our prayers, brotha's and sista's in the Lord I plead as a fellow bondservant of the Lord Jesus Christ, be faithful to God in prayer and supplication. Praying Gods protection upon the family's of these brotha's and that they may be built back up in Him fully restored by our Awesome God. Please don't throw stones, we are all One. That means if you do, you will not only hurt them, but also yourself. Grace and Peace. Love brotha Daniel,

you are right so for real its like an olsteen mentality. oh they sinned know problem i look forward to their next album. sin is serious and should not be overlooked. I know that i would make the same decisions they did if it werent for the grace of God. but that doesnt change the fact what happened. remember folks. 1 corinthians 5. we have every right to judge those inside the church. sole deo gloria.
I agree with Gerald

This is crazy. Its like all of the sudden the Holy Hip-Hop community has turned into Joel Olsteen. Its like nobody even cares that these men were secretly living in hypocrisy. Goodness people, I know they make songs you like but truth still stands. Lets not judge but we are almost totally dismissing the fact that sin comes with discipline and punishment. These guys cheated. I know we live in AMERICA but that is still a VERY BIG DEAL. And they were trying to lead people to Christ while they were running away from Him. I dont care how many hit singles or concerts or tours you have done, thats not right. And I heard that da Truth had the ordacity to do a womans sexual abstinance concert. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. This is crazy. I love them and I do beleive that restoration will take place, but I will not and I refuse to make light of the situation just because they are popular. It was wrong and hypocritical and it cannot be overlooked.
shameful. Here is what really happened
written by gerald , November 16, 2009
first off let me start by saying that i am embarrased of how many people i have seen on blogs and websites take up for da truth and how everyone blames the devil. Read james we fall into sin because of our own sinful desires. the devil didnt make truth do this. now for yall who dont know let me give you a background of what happened. I know these guys personally. Da truth was habitually cheating on his wife with tye tribbetts wife for over the past year. yes while da truth was recording the album the big picture he was practicing adultery.NOT to mention he was doing concerts videos accepting stellar awards on the radio interviews and such and such. this is unnacceptable. we as believers fall into sin but true believers dont habitually practice it.I am no better or worse than anyone.not only did he do that but the only reason he released a statement is because he got caught in the act. he didnt just man up and come out he was forced. so i am very dissapointed how cmr's website says that he stepped up and came out with this.this is straight hypocrisy people. this isnt no mistake or one or two time thing.he needs to be rebuked sharply and the last thing he needs to do is be writing music. he needs to truly repent and take ALOT OF TIME OFF!Church discipline must take place.1 corinthians 5 but after that restoration must happen if he truly repents. I feel sorry for him. but more sorry for his fans and his family especially his wife.ALso not only has ambassador cheated and da truth but tye tribbett is guilty as well so dont just look at the other guys. thats how this started. tye was cheating on his wife. now the news is out. this is embarrasing for the body and should have severe punishment.a whole year folks. while covering it up with the big picture album. please pray that he would truly be convicted and that his soul in the end will be saved. Now these guys arent the only ones cheating on there wives. if your heart broken over this then you will be crushed later. there are more guys doing this as we speak in holy hip hop but you will find that out later. i will let that come out first before i speak. you will hear from me again. and just to show you that i am not being to harsh. if i cheated on my wife whether its once or a whole year then i need to be exposed as well.no one is exempt.
YOU CHANGED MY LIFE...& I STILL GAT MAD LOVE FOR YOU.

Star struck, Man up. Thats the Big Picture!!
written by Pearl, November 16, 2009
I noted that the news came just after their hit albums -Chop Chop & Big Picture- Shows us how fast and far the Enemy is struggling against us.
These dudes are in the spotlight and everything they do is exposed; a real Open Book. That doesnt make them diferent from us, we who sin like they do but arent exposed as they are. No condemnation!
But to these Artists (in my view the BIGGEST in CMR)and all other Christ-followers; we have to prove to the world we are different, and keep reping Him. What happens if 'Crae came up with a similar issue? Imagine the effect this could have had on HHH and Believersphere as a whole. We may fall, but have to rise up.
TRUTH we have you at heart, and will praying.
CMR too should stand strong, and firm in these times

I will suggest that Manny and Deuce, upon return do something together; that could be encouraging, LOL.
Satan returns...
written by Dany V, November 15, 2009
My heart is broken to see the blows sin is dishing out to the body of Christ,as a young men(23)in public ministry myself(Radio Presenter,Hip Hop Minister,Youth Minister)I can relate to what Truth is probably going through...I just wish we as Saints will put a firm grip on the younger generation,I've learned that Satan returns to open the same dark doors he already opened earlier in our lives and that's really how he gets us back down,we all know from his music that truth struggled in the sexual area before so it does not shock me that the same area has lead him to this place of humiliation. Fam lets protect our youngsters from open doors that will cost them their future, we need hands on ministry that prevents Satan from coming early and planting seeds that he reaps from later in life...

To "DA Truth" Brother u keep strong,God is still busy with you Brother,We all know how rough temptation is out there,We just pray for restoration...I've written a song called "Godly Men" (written to myself)which keeps me going,I think you need to get something that keeps you during this hard times.A scripture,a song,a Psalm...Just know that Christ is the perfect picture for us to follow & HE "CHRIST" IS NOT "DA TRUTH",

so we understand you falling the bible does speak about a righteous men falling seven times so though its hard we not surprised, yet we will be praying for your restoration.

& I encourage you to not stop writing during this time, I have a funny feeling that Very Mature content will pour out from you during this time in the gutters of sin, think of other men who might have to walk down that road & also those who still can prevent making that wrong decision. Love you with all my heart Emmanuel

What's up Fam...

..."Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet was without sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need..."

Man, this situation hits so hard to home for me.
But,
It is important to remember that God Loves us in spite of our sins. Throughout this past year (and even very recently) that is what I have come to realize. That no matter what we do, God will love us; no "bad" act, nor any "good" act can separate us from God's grace and Love. From a human perspective it so hard for us to understand how someone can continue to love us when we commit the same sins over and over again. It's even harder for us to grasp that all we have to do is confess our sin and ask for forgiveness.. and we are forgiven! Many times we sit around beating ourselves up (unfortunately, we batter our brothers and sisters in Christ on top of that) for something we've already been forgiven of, when we need to be moving forward and continuing God's will. The best way that I think Jesus describes this forgiveness and Love to us is in a parable he tells in Luke 15:11-32.

For all of my brothers and sisters in Christ reading this, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't get this twisted. Yes, God forgives us of our sins, no matter how great it is, but that does not mean it is a gateway to live any way that our flesh desires. As followers of the faith, it is definitely our obligation to live, lead, and respond correctly to the Word of God, pressing straight towards the mark of His good and perfect Will.

We have to pray saints. We have to pray for each other. Our actions have to be consistent with His word, but we need to keep each other lifted up. Keep CMR lifted up in pray. We as Christians could either blast them or we can cover them in prayer and use this as a lesson in our own lives. I can't blast them when I have things that I am dealing with. Stephen, that was real and I understand exactly what you are talking about. Father, forgive us and cleanse up. Let's read Psalms 51 and really meditate on it.

CMR, Truth and Ambassador, we still love you guys!

And I hope no one thinks I was putting Truth on blast while neglecting my own sin, b/c that's not the impression I wanted to give.

We all fall short. I'm just saying it's disappointing when prominent Christian leaders don't follow the example they preach/rap about.

The Real Deal
written by Nick Nowlin, November 14, 2009
It isn't the person in the spotlight that falls that cripples the kingdom so much as it is the way the rest the "family" reacts. I respect Da Truth's admission of what he did, but, truthfully, if all he did was tell God and his wife he would be good.

What's sad is how the "family" (other Christians) blast people out when they fall. The world hears that God is love all day, but when His people bicker amongst each other it makes "His way", Christianity, look bad.

Bottom line is that we ALL, saved or unsaved, are wretches straight from the dirt God made us out of. Sin is sin. There are no degrees to it. If you wanna blast Da Truth for committing adultery then tell everybody how you lie, lust, covet or whatever else you KNOW you struggle with. And if you don't, well why do you need Christ? We ALL sin everyday!

I thank God that He loves me ANYWAYS... forgives me when I ask ANYWAYS... helps me when I need Him ANYWAYS. Even though "man",including Christians, will fail me... HE never does.

To Da Truth: It is my sincere prayer that you overcome this challenge in your life and that your wife forgive you. Furthermore, when you DO your life will be an even greater testimony to the world that our God is real. I'm not your biggest fan and don't know you personally, but I love you fam. ~ Your brother in Christ.

Incredibly disappointing. Just when Christian rap is starting to make inroads in the secular world, two of its biggest artists choose to go and cheat on their wives.

Let's not sugarcoat this, fam. Things like THIS are why people see Christians as no better than people in the world.

I'm glad Truth and Ambassador have repented, but their decisions will have massive repercussions for the body, and for all those repping Christ through rap. What a shame.

No one is perfect and we agree that we ALL sin and fall short. Which brings me to the question...would there be any gospel singers, rappers, ministers, etc.???
ALL HAVE FALLEN SHORT OF THE GLORY...
written by richard cutright, November 13, 2009
That means that (insert name) has done it and so have we all. I give glory to God that he stepped up and brought his failings to light rather than keep them hidden for the sake of his image. Just like Ambassador though, i pray that this stepping away will help him further die to self and to try to re-establish their marriages. Theres no "cant's" in the Kingdom. I also commend CMR for the way they handle their situautions. I know alot of people get upset, but think about it like sports. When a player does somethin foul, u bench em and fine them and they take that time away to go over the mistakes they made to become better men. And they do that for an perishable trophy. So how much harder do we who run for a imperishable crown have to be reprimanded for our wrongs?

When Im dealin with my short comings I have to step away, and i wrestle with most of the stuff Steve said plus some. So even tho some of the people we looked up to fell, thats what we all do. Its the getting up and getting right that matters.
Lets pray for restoration in the lives of not just those who we see, but for those that we dont, including ourselves.
And even tho its said, we know that both our brothers will be victorious in the end.
Cause the wise man welcomes the rebuke so he can get errthing on point

I don't know all of the circumstances behind Truth's admission so I can't speak on it. I can say that I struggle to overcome sin daily without the some of the pressures that I'm sure he experiences being on the road and in the spotlight. He is arguably one of the most recognizable Christian rap artist out today. I pray for his wife and family in particular but also Crossmovement records. CMR has been faithful in holding their artist to the highest standards because of the call that is on their individual lives. Even in these difficult times, Ambassador, Truth and the untimely passing of Enock, they still hold the up the Word with integrity unflinching. I pray that Truth takes some time to be restored first to God and then to his wife. CMR, I got your back and will be praying for all of you. God Bless.

Man this is sad to read, but I am pleased truth is taking a seat. I knew about this like a month ago, and I still saw him doing shows so that made me agitated, but I am happy to see that he has taken this time for healing and growing closer to GOd. We all should pray for him, ambassador and the whole CM aquad and all of Holy hip hop and just the church as a whole. THE enemy is always trying to put dirt on our testimoney. We all have to represent HIM well.

I thank both of you (Kevin and LaToya) for sharing your heart and being open and honest. Two of the biggest things I struggle with are pride and procrastination. I am also a Christian leader for youth and although I read the Word when preparing for a lesson, I am not always consistent about reading it outside of my ministry responsibilities. These things negatively affect my everyday life and cause me to sin. Da Truth is not alone, we all fall short daily. Pray for me as we all continue to pray for Da Truth.

God Bless

I get to be mad lazy and hypocritical at times...I teach my youth too and I want them to grow but I don't always put in the effort and discipline it takes to show them what growth actually looks like. I deal with pride and judgement and I sho wish I talked to the Lord more often about these things but oh there is pride and laziness and so I don't give these things to Him like I should. I can't point no fingers at Truth as much as I want the people I love most to be perfect they are not and guess what as much as they aren't I'm not either. So I guess what ever sermons we have for this post are valid but we must make sure we are the main people it is meant for! I will be prayin for this!!!
God Bless you Kevin for your heart!
God is Good...
written by Kevin Toerner, November 13, 2009
Just imagine if all of us were as bold as Da Truth and allowed the admitance of our sin go public. what if every saint were to do this all at once? the fact that da truth and ambassador's shortcomings have been revealed puts the spotlight on them and that is a burden to bear.... but is that how it should be?? i think not. if all the saints would openly make known their sins and shortcomings to either an accountability partner or go public with it would take the bright spot light of the few who are bold in the begining and would shed the light on all for we all fall short. with the light on all of us we can make room for healing and growth in the name of Christ, through our shortcomings Christ can get His glory. harboring sin and not speaking it to a friend is like keeping a lethal poisin in your body when the remedy is within reach.

i have lusted, i have hated, i have cheated, i have lied, as a christian leader for youth i dont read my Bible enough and then act like i have the thing memorized when i go to church, i disrespect my family and am lazy, i cut corners to make things easier for me.......

but if you ever met me you would think that i had my head on straight and that im a perfect example of a christian....

we all fall short no matter how perfect we appear... i encourage you to let your sin out and openly confess, if not in public then at least to a freind.

grace and peace

Our life is an open book right???
whats done in the dark will come to the light?
we need to listen to those more who preach deliverance for our flesh and the choices we make! Preach what you are going through at the time you are going through it!! Just because we have liberty, shall we continue in sin? God forbid! Build your ministries on the rock (only foundation) so when the wind blow and the water comes it will still stand!! We shouldnt wait until our integrity shows how we are, an everything we have starts to leave (ministry, wives family, respect & more..)before we tell on our selves. We should tell on our selves first! I wonder about the other party if there is one?? I hope they get help as well. They're probably hurt as well! oh well I will pray for everyone that is involved, including those not mention!
David of the Bible
written by Daniel, November 13, 2009
Let's remember David, who is said to be a man after God's own heart. He committed adultery with Bathsheba and even killed a man while going about with his plan. However, he reconciled once again to the Lord and we know him today as a great man who had an intimate relationship with God.
