Don't be so quick to throw judgment or opinion at me, but this CD almost sounds secular. Like, I've only heard about the first 3-4 songs, and getting a bad vibe from it. It's almost like he's using Jesus as an one-up over people rather than sharing the Gospel... like "I'm up here, yall cats are stuck down there, and don't expect any help." Jesus isn't a trophy lol, or bragging rights you know. Just seems like that's what I'm hearing so far. Maybe I'll listen to more of it down the road, but for now, it sounds VERY arrogant to me. Anybody think otherwise, please comment in my inbox. Thanks, and God Bless!

Yes this is a Christian mixtape and a really good one. I liked the style and lyrics Rod Hodge used in this mixtape. DJ Sean Blue, my hat goes off to you in producing and adding your flava to this mixtape.
To respond to the other comments in regarding mixtapes. I understand that some people do not like mixtapes that have songs that run into each other or sound effects, drops, or liners in the mixtape. To give you some clarification, those items are what a mixtape mainly is. A mixtape is used to bring songs or compilations from different artists to feature either new music on upcoming projects or music that they feel should just be freebees to the public. A true mixtape has music that continues so that the listener can fully enjoy all the songs without the normal 2-3 second pause in between the tracks. The sound effects, drops, and DJ voice help bring out the mixtape to the fullest. DJ Sean Blu did an amazing job with this and its good to listen to a mixtape where we all can enjoy all the songs. A mixtape is just not a mixtape if it doesn't have these elements included. We all have our own tastes in music, and how we feel mixtapes can be done, but do understand that a mixtape is what DJ's do best, to bring you music from artists who want to share with all their talents.

Thanks Sean for releasing this! I love Rob Hodge's stuff!
I've just about given up on the mixtape definition convo b/c I'm from the "old school" where mixtapes actually had mixing along with the dj element. DJ's weren't "hosts" back in those days and they talked with their hands (mixes/blends, cuts, scratches, and diggin' in the crates).
Sean Blu can hold it down in this way too...I've heard stuff. (I see you homie!) The crazy thing though, is that the word "mixtape" has come to mean a bunch of different things and serves various purposes (as much as I may not like it) ...and so many people now view mixtapes as just a promo prior to an album or something with affects or so on or something to "quick throw together." Sometimes the art of the DJ isn't pursued or wanted or manifested.
Sometimes this puts djs in a tough position. Sometimes a label or artist will want (or pay) a dj to "host" a "mixtape" and give the dj what songs they want and in what order to put them. (not saying that this is what Sean's doing). Other times the target audience is wanting something else. Other times the dj doesn't see the "benefit" of putting in the work diggin' for cuts and blending music if all it's going to be used for is a free download/quick promo.
But thanks again to Sean Blu and Rob Hodge getting this stuff out! I respect your hustle. Shouts out to the dj's putting it down in the original mixtape fashion as well
LOL! I totally agree about the DJ Mixes written by HumbleR4G,

"THE THING THAT I HATE ABOUT MIXTAPES IS THE DJ TALKING ON IT ALL THE TIME AND ALL THE DROPS THAT ARE IN THEM, I JUST WANT TO HEAR THE ARTIST DOING MUSIC, LOL." LOUD
LOL! Totally Agree The shout outs to the DJ, promo's and such are great. I like the station feel to a mixtape.
However, the sound effects and mixes/scratches/rewinds can and do become VERY annoying to the point where I delete the whole mixtape...
...I'd rather just search for individual songs or wait for the songs to be hosted by another DJ that don't make it sound like they put the mix together in cages at the zoo, LOL!, featuring "Exta-C the Chimp" and "Trump-E the Elephant"
LOL! Don't mean to be rude, but REAL TALK!, consider it constructive criticism.
Thanks for a great mixtape Sean Blu, and good to have Rob Hodge "home".
-Sean, don't get mad cause he doesn't like how your doing it man, just do you it's working for you right? You do have a point with the age question though, the reason you hear comments like that is that nowadays "mixtape" and "compilation" are synonimous, ie. check the majority of mixtapes they are really just albums/compilations. THE THING THAT I HATE ABOUT MIXTAPES IS THE DJ TALKING ON IT ALL THE TIME AND ALL THE DROPS THAT ARE IN THEM, I JUST WANT TO HEAR THE ARTIST DOING MUSIC, LOL. I love when a dj talks with his hands and just amazes me with the mix and transitions that they do (side note to all the dj's, please stop "running it back" so much, if a line is hot one rewind is enough to highlight it, lol).
-Steve, I'm with you 100% on your request man. It is really annoying when artists don't tag thier stuff right. Nothing annoys me more that having to go in and label everything on a 24 track mixtape, when that should have been done already by the artist before it was submitted. Little stuff like this go a big way with keeping the listener happy (and don't say it was free so deal with it, I've heard that before, haha). I plan on starting a discussion on the small things artists should pay attention to for stuff like this, I had a huge list in my head before and i should have posted it then, oh well.
-Rob Hodge, if you read this man I love the music, keep doing you man. Is the other promised mixtape coming out before year end or sometime next year? What about the 3 albums for next year, still on track for that? Keep it 100 for Christ man, Im loving the lane your moving in, just never forget who you do it for. -God BLess- LOUD

This was probably the best mixtape that DJ Sean Blu has produced. He didn't run 1 song into the next song like he normally does. My favorite song on here was the Dear Diary song. It was a very long wait but considering it was free I can't complain.

Downloaded this last night and I've been listening to it since. Rob Hodge did a great job with the mixtape, I definitely can't wait to hear the "Breaking Point" mixtape and the 3 upcoming street albums, assuming they're still coming out. Rob Hodge is back!
