Yale Divinity Student Shares God’s Message through Unique Blend of Poetry, Gospel and Hip Hop after Appearance on 98.7 KISS-FM’s Kiss Inspirations
Gospel Hip Hop Artist J PROPHET made his New York City debut Sunday, August 8, 2010 at Uptown Grand located in Harlem, NY. Earlier in the day J PROPHET appeared on 98.7 Kiss-FM’s Kiss Inspirations with host Toya Beasley. The evening included special performances by Gospel singer Antoine and spoken word artist Joshua Bennett. On Sunday, August 15th, J PROPHET will be one of the featured Gospel artists at the radio station’s annual Harlem Day celebration.
J PROPHET fuses his passion for Hip Hop Culture with his commitment to God’s Word to deliver powerful messages of hope and deliverance. “The Spirit was definitely in the atmosphere at Uptown Grand! It was a wonderful worship experience and artistic endeavor filled with energy and love. I’m so thankful to Antoine Dolberry and Joshua Bennett for blessing my New York City debut!” said J PROPHET.
His sound has been heavily influenced by Gospel artists such as Kirk Franklin, Mary Mary, and Cross Movement. Comments from concert attendees included the following:

A 2010 graduate of Yale University where he received his Bachelor of Arts in African-American Studies, J PROPHET will be attending Yale Divinity School in the Fall where he will begin a three-year Master of Divinity Program.
