The Mixtape

Louisville, KY Summer 2012- New Christian Rap Artist, Leroy Holden III aka “EarRelevant”, released his first mixtape. After his conversion to Christianity in 2008, Leroy stopped doing secular music and later traded in his worldly lyrics for lyrics overflowing with encouragement and the truth of Jesus Christ. No longer living to make his name known (but to make God’s name known), Leroy changed his name to EarRelevant. “Who I am, is irrelevant” Leroy said, “I just want people to see Christ and His beauty. Although I am irrelevant, my music is very relevant to the ear. I am EarRelevant.”

The mixtape has a feature with Jaylafe’ on the well-known track entitled, ‘All Day’. The ‘Buried In Lies’ mixtape reveals the deep rooted lies that are embraced by society, then explains the truth of what God says. EarRelevant’s movement and axiom is ‘Saved By Grace’. Through his music, EarRelevant teaches that Christians are saved by grace through faith and not of their own works. He does this by being transparent on sin issues that are common in today’s society and directs the listeners to the hope of deliverance by the grace of God. ‘Buried In Lies’ mixtape gives hope to those who are in the urban culture that they were made for a greater purpose and that their lives are of great worth. In Christ, there is freedom from society’s standards. ‘Buried In Lies’ definitely puts the word of God into a language that can be understood by all generations and backgrounds of people.
